No Strings Attached describes the team's desire to have no strings tying us to this earthly world, but instead to be focused on pleasing God as we share His word through puppets and other forms of creative ministry.
1 Timothy 4:12 "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity." And Colossians 3:23 "Whatever you do, work at it with all of your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men." were chosen by the team to represent No Strings Attached.
No Strings Attached performs for the church body during Sunday services about 5 times a year and has begun to venture out into the community as well. Most of these performances are puppets, but occasionally it means trying out a different form of creative ministry. Children (grade 6 on up) and adults are invited to join. The most young-at-heart adults enjoy participating in the performances, while others have assisted with backdrops, prop building, puppet making, transportation and snacks. Team members choose which performances they are able to participate in based on other commitments and scheduling conflicts.
The team attends the One Way Street Spring Puppet Festival in Minneapolis each spring. This is an exciting opportunity for the team to attend training workshops to develop or improve their puppeteering technique, prop building, background scenery and be exposed to other forms of creative ministry. Networking with teams and leaders from other churches representing a five-state area and Canada is enjoyed by everyone. The team often times participates in the song competition held on the Friday night of the festival.
