Youth Mission Trips
Rice Lake, Sarona, Shell Lake and Spooner, Wisconsin
July 2010
Our team of 12 teens and 2 adults spent 5 days serving our surrounding communities by volunteering and sharing our time with others in need. The areas where we served included yard and lakeshore cleanup, driveway repair, making meals for families; serving at the Shell Lake Movie Night. As the week progressed, we went to the Lakeland Family Resource Center to help with their children's program as well as helping organize, clean, weed and paint; we also helped at the Washburn County Food Pantry; were involved with the craft time at the Spooner Nursing Home and developed relationships with everyone along the way. Our last stop was at Paul's Pantry in Rice Lake, where we learned about the St. Vincent de Paul's organization and how they serve the community. We helped organize their food warehouse, stocked shelves in the pantry, helped prepare and serve the meal, and got to go on a tour of the facilities. Along the way, we watched for opportunities to share the love of Jesus by talking to others about a relationship with Him.
Thank you for the multiple ways you served us on our trip - by providing us with a place to stay, serving us meals, and your prayer support. Thank you for your generous hearts!
