Guidelines for Reopening Spooner Wesleyan Church

Church Building:
The Church will be open during the week for limited access beginning on Tuesday, June 23rd.
Office hours will remain the same;
Tuesday through Friday, 8:30am - 3:00pm
 
Services Options: 
On-site- 
*We will be having worship with singing at both services.  Musicians will not be wearing masks while on the platform for either service.
 
8:30 am- Masks are optional at this service * (Doors will be open at 8:10am)
If you are comfortable wearing a mask we would encourage you to attend the mask only service to ensure a balanced number at each service.
 
10:15 am- Masks are required at this service for anyone 5 and older (Doors will be open at 9:50) Please respect the correct usage of the mask.
*Please bring your own mask if you have one. If you forget, we will provide them.
 
On-Line-
8:30 Live Stream services will continue to be broadcast on Facebook. At-Risk individuals or those more comfortable viewing at home until a later date are encouraged to join us on-line.
 
Family Area:
The Gathering area will be set up to accommodate families with young children. Families may utilize this area at the start of service or may leave the sanctuary if needed during the service and utilize this space.
Families who may be accessing this space will be seated on the right side of the sanctuary if possible.
Our typical busy bags will not be available, so please bring quiet items with you that may help your child stay focused.  
 
Physical Distancing:
Physical Distancing measures will be implemented including;

  • Greeters and Ushers will be located throughout the building to direct, and seat you as you arrive.  You will also be dismissed at the end of the service. 
  • Seating will be done following recommended social distancing measures.
  • Feel free to greet each other outside after services, remembering to practice social distancing. 
  • Nurseries, library, and office areas will be inaccessible at this time.
  • Ushers and Greeters will be wearing masks.
  • Food or drink will not be provided in any ministry at this time.

 
Children’s Programming:
Children’s programming including First KIds (nursery) and Kids 4mation (Sunday School) will not be in session at this time but will be added in at a later phase of reopening.
 
Adult Sunday School:
Adult Sunday School could start July 12th following the social distancing guidelines being implemented in the church or they can wait until a later phase with fewer restrictions.
 
Third Place Coffee Ministry:
Third Place will not be available at this time but will be added in a later phase of reopening.
 
Offering:
Offering baskets will not be passed during the service. Offering baskets will be at the sanctuary doors.
 
Bulletins:
Paper Bulletins will not be available at this time. Please see the Get Plugged In section of the website for announcements.
 
Mailboxes:
Mailboxes will not be available at this time. This will be phased in at a later time.
 
Small groups:
Small groups can continue to meet via Zoom, or groups of 15 or less can meet on campus following social distancing guidelines and sanitizing guidelines.  If meeting on campus, spaces need to be reserved by contacting Laurine in the church office.
 
Cleaning:
A thorough cleaning of the church will be done prior to services each Sunday. Cleaning of high-touch areas will be done between the first and second service each week.
 
Illness Prevention:
If you are showing any signs of illness we ask that you refrain from coming to service, and utilize our on-line options instead.
